Foreigners (expats) holding a valid Philippine Driver’s Licence can apply for an International Driving Permit using their Philippine Driver’s Licence, as opposed to a Licence held in another country. For some this may be ideal, especially if your Licence in the Philippines is “clean” and another isn’t quite so impressive!

Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) is the only organisation authorised to issue a Philippine International Driving Permit (PIDP). The Philippine International Driving Permit allows you to drive in over one hundred countries around the world.

Applications can be made yourself or via someone acting on your behalf (they need to take along a copy of their own I.D. (as well as yours) and a letter of authorisation from you).

Geneva Convention Format

AAP issues this IDP format specifically for Japan use only.
