If you’re an expat like me, living in the Philippines and staring down the barrel of major dental work, I know exactly what’s running through your mind: Is it really safe to get dental implants here? Will the quality match what I’d get back home? What if something goes wrong?

I’ve been asking myself the same questions for years. And today, I’m sharing the stripped-back reality of the entire process—right from my latest visit to Bonifacio Dental Center in Angeles City.

My Dental Implant Journey So Far

If you’ve been following along on the Naked Expat channel, you already know I’ve had two implant bases fitted previously. But here’s the part most clinics won’t tell you: one of them wasn’t sitting quite right.

Dr. Bonifacio—part of the incredible husband-and-wife team who run the clinic—looked at the X-rays, shook his head, and said, “No. This isn’t secure enough for the long term.”

Instead of just pushing ahead and taking the payment, he removed the base and recommended we wait another 3–6 months. He even suggested calcium supplements to help my jawbone grow stronger naturally.

That moment? It sealed the deal for me.

In a world where some places prioritise speed and profit, this level of honesty and care is rare. It’s exactly why I keep coming back – and why I trust them with my smile.

What Happened in Today’s Procedure

In the latest video (which you can watch below), I took you inside the clinic for the full process of fitting the replacement implant base into my upper jaw.

From the moment I sat in the chair to the final stitch, everything was calm, professional, and surprisingly comfortable. Dr. Bonifacio walked me through every step, answered all my (many) questions, and made sure I felt completely at ease.

No rushing. No pressure. Just skilled hands and genuine concern for getting it right.

Here’s a quick peek at what the implant process actually looks like—clean, precise, and modern.

What’s Next?

Once this new base fully integrates (another 3–6 months of healing), we’ll finally attach the artificial tooth. I can’t wait to show you the final result!

A Special Thank You to Bonifacio Dental Center

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: this husband-and-wife team (Dr. Joseph and Dr. Michelle) are the real deal. Their clinic feels more like a caring family practice than a high-volume dental factory.

If you’re already a member and you’d like an introduction, just drop me an email first at [email protected]. I’ll personally connect you so you can enjoy the member perks.
