Good to know
If your TV isn’t a Smart TV but has an HDMI socket at the back/side, then the Amazon 4K Firestick will make it seem like you DO have a Smart TV! It is also worth noting that many Smart TV’s (like my own 2yr old LG TV) connect to WiFi using only 2.4G when accessing NETFLIX, YouTube etc. However, by connecting to these services via the Amazon 4K Firestick you are able to connect at the more up-to-date 5G WiFi that most modern WiFi routers now transmit at.

There are hundreds of online subscriptions available nowadays and you only have to subscribe to a few for the costs to mount-up. However, the following options are enjoyed by many expats (myself included) no matter which country you are living in.
What gadgets do I need?
- A reasonably fast internet connection of at least 2Mbps – The faster the better!
- An Amazon 4K Firestick – Preferably the “international version” but any Amazon 4K Firestick will work*

Lazada/Shopee/ebay Warning
Be extremely cautious if you decide to buy an Amazon 4K Firestick from anywhere other than amazon as many are counterfeit. Many are ‘good’ fakes and look just like the real deal. Most will also work too! However, they overheat, melt and like a lot of stuff from China – they don’t last long.

Two Great Options for Expats
The following Comet & PLEX options offer an incredible amount of viewing pleasure and an endless supply of entertainment. They are both strictly by invitation only!
I use Comet to watch Live TV from the UK/USA, including BBC, Bloomberg Finance, History, Discovery, Science, Docs etc. and all the Sky Sports Channels. My Kids love all the popular Children’s Channels, including Disney, Nickelodeon and MTV.
